Home Care for Maine started its life in 1994 as Home Resources of Maine.
Its new modern name was adopted in September 2004 to speak directly to its fundamental
service helping people stay in their homes. For more than 10 years, the agency has
been the lead organization in running the state Homemaking Program, funded through the
Bureau of Elder and Adult Services. A statewide, not-for-profit home care organization,
Home Care for Maine was a spin-off from Senior Spectrums personal care services
division. The agency currently has close to 490 employees in the field and 24 employees in
the home office in Farmingdale. On a monthly basis, we serve nearly 2,500 people in every
